About our foodbank

Here is an introduction to our project.

PLEASE NOTE – Our foodbanks are currently closed, however, we are operating a delivery system as far as possible.  If you need help with food, please call 0300 124 0204 Monday to Friday 9am to 2 pm.   If you are able to help with packing parcels or delivering parcels, again please give us a call.

Our foodbank is a project run from Horsham Matters, supported by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in Horsham District.  Horsham District Foodbank started in 2014.  Since then we have received approximately 138 tonnes of donated food, and distributed this to nearly 7500 clients.  Clients are issued with a voucher by our partner referral agencies and our aim is to ensure that everyone feels welcomed and put at ease.  Volunteers are on hand to serve tea and coffee and provide a listening ear if needed.  We provide at least 3 days worth of food, and will also signpost clients to other sources of help if appropriate.  The data contained within the vouchers is then securely fed back to the Trussell Trust, who will then use this information to campaign nationally against poverty and hunger.
